International Student Advisor
Felipe Recinos is an International Student Advisor for OISS. Having been born in El Salvador, Felipe can understand the difficulties of navigating immigration processes while being in college. Felipe wanted to be in a role that would allow him meet folks from around the world but also be a resource for folks acclimating to UCSB and the US. Felipe grew up in Orange County, CA (think Disneyland) and graduated from UCSB in 2018 with a BA in Environmental Studies and an Anthropology Minor. During his time as an undergraduate, Felipe became a brother of Theta Nu Kappa Multicultural and Academic Fraternity and served as a Senator, among other roles, within Associated Students. Before coming to OISS, Felipe held the role of Assistant Resident Director for Santa Catalina North and Manzanita Village. Having been in many different roles on campus, Felipe is very knowledgeable on campus resources and involvements. Felipe loves to work out and watch plenty of movies and tv shows in his spare time. Ask him about Harry Potter, he can talk about everything there is about Harry Potter. Or Power Rangers. Or Superman. Food too!
