No, but it is highly recommended. The app allows international students and scholars to fill out e-forms on their phones and receive relevant push notifications.

So that you don’t miss an essential immigration update! Push notifications will only be used to alert you of the most time-sensitive immigration information. The notifications will not be used for event advertising or non-urgent updates. We kindly ask that you enable the notifications, which will be functional in the near future.

Simply download the “Sunapsis” app from the Apple or Google Play store. Open the app, select UCSB, and sign in using your UCSB Single Sign On (SSO) credentials. Sunapsis is UCSBGlobal’s internal program name. The app on your phone will be named, “Sunapsis,” but the app icon will display, “UCSBGlobal.” You may also see Indiana University mentioned in relation to Sunapsis because that’s where the program was created. The UCSB version of Sunapsis is UCSBGlobal. For more detailed instructions, check out the Download Guide.

Click, “requests'' at the bottom of the screen and select, “New Request.” Scroll through the e-forms to find the one you’re looking for. Fill out the e-form as you normally would and submit!

The way you interact with the e-forms will look different, but all the fields and required information are the same. All e-forms available on the UCSBGlobal website are also available on the app.

Yes. You are welcome to continue using the UCSBGlobal website to submit e-forms. But if you wish to submit e-forms from your phone, then you will need to download the UCSBGlobal app.
